The question of Jadon Sancho’s next club is one most Manchester United fans would rather avoid—but it’s a debate they cannot escape.

While many expected the Englishman to return to the Bundesliga in case Chelsea decided to send him back to United, a new contender has now emerged in the race for his signature.

For those wondering, the 25-year-old left United on loan last summer, joining the Blues in a bid to revive his Premier League career after struggling to make an impact at Old Trafford.

With just three games remaining in Chelsea’s season, his record—four goals and ten assists in 40 appearances—hasn’t been enough to convince the club to make the move permanent.

Chelsea had initially agreed to an obligation to sign Sancho for around £20-£25 million last summer, provided they finished in the top 15 of the league.

But as they fight for a top-five finish, the London club seem to have opted out of the deal with The Sun claiming the team from Stamford Bridge are prepared to pay a £5 million penalty to send him back to Old Trafford.

Although Sancho has another year left on his United contract, he seems unlikely to stay.

Jadon Sancho transfer saga: Dortmund, Leverkusen, or Mourinho’s Fenerbahce?

Borussia Dortmund are keen on bringing him back, and if that move doesn’t materialise, The Mirror have claimed Bayer Leverkusen are also monitoring the situation.

Manchester United appear eager to facilitate a Bundesliga return, setting their asking price at a relatively modest £20 million, according to the publication.

While this fee seems reasonable, Sancho’s reported £250,000-a-week wages present a stumbling block for Dortmund and Leverkusen, who are hesitant to commit to the financial package.

With those clubs weighing their options, Turkish giants Fenerbahce have now entered the fray, determined to push hard for Sancho’s signature.

According to Yeni Asir, Fenerbahce view Sancho as a crucial piece in their bid to reclaim dominance in the Turkish league and compete in Europe.

The England international’s potential signing has their manager Jose Mourinho’s approval, so Fenerbahce is ready to “push all limits” to secure him; his wages may not be an issue for the Super Lig side.

If Dortmund and Leverkusen want him, they may have no choice but to brace for a transfer battle.

Sancho’s departure—whether to Turkey, Germany, or elsewhere—would be welcomed by United manager Ruben Amorim, who is keen to refresh his squad.

With the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Regulations in play, United’s transfer strategy hinges on player sales, meaning Sancho’s exit could pave the way for key reinforcements.

If Mourinho’s Fenerbahce win the race, Sancho will reunite with former United teammates Fred and Sofyan Amrabat — familiar faces who could help him adapt to Turkish football and rediscover his best form.
