Former UFC title challenger, Darren Till improved his unbeaten professional boxing record to 2-0 tonight in Derby, England — scoring a unanimous decision win over fellow Octagon alum, Darren Stewart in the pair’s rebooked DAZN-MisFits headliner.
Till, who has now featured twice under the promotion’s banner, made his debut in the ring back in January, scoring an eventual eighth round knockout victory over former BAMMA and Bellator MMA fighter, Anthony Taylor — who replaced compatriot, Tommy Fury.
For Stewart, the former UFC contender and Cage Warriors star made his professional boxing debut tonight in his clash with Liverpool striker, Till.
And getting off to an impressive start, former welterweight title chaser, Darren Till scored an impressive first round knockdown on Stewart, sending him to the canvas with a rattling counter straight left hand.
However, forcing to gruell through some challenging moments in the fourth round of their eight round bout, Till was clipped against the ropes on occasion by the veteran.
Riding out a unanimous decision, Till almost very nearly forced a buzzer-beating knockout, in fact, once more felling a fatigued Stewart at the bell with another patented counter left hand strike.
