It’s time to add yet another prospect to BGN’s Philadelphia Eagles’ pre-draft visits tracker leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Birds will be hosting Texas A&M edge rusher Nic Scourton at the NovaCare Complex, according to Ryan Fowler.
Scourton is the No. 31 prospect ranked by Pro Football Focus and No. 49 prospect ranked by Daniel Jeremiah. The 20-year-old could be an option for the Eagles at No. 32 or if they trade out of the first round.
Scourton played at Purdue in 2022 and 2023 before transferring to Texas A&M in 2024. Playing in 37 total games, Scourton logged 17 sacks, 31 tackles for loss, and three forced fumbles. His most productive season came in 2023, when he had 10 sacks.
The Eagles are clearly doing homework on pass rushing prospects leading up to this year’s draft. Scourton is a contender to join their rotation.
Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:
Physical edge presence with the potential for creating havoc on all three downs. Scourton can power across the blocker’s face and into gaps but is an average “set-and-contain” run defender. He plays with adequate hustle and range in pursuit and hits runners with heavy pads. He’s an eclectic rusher with a mature rush plan and rarely shows opponents the same look on consecutive plays. He won’t outrace or bulldoze tackles, but he utilizes tempo alterations and a bag full of moves and counters. Teams threw chips and double-teams his way out of concern and respect. Scourton’s size, demeanor and rush talent give him a chance to become a productive three-down starter off the edge.
