NFL Power Rankings 2025: Which teams improved in the draft?

Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

Amari Cooper landing spots: Cowboys, Eagles among seven best team fits for top free-agent WR – NFL.comHowie Roseman deserves the “Dynasty Patriots Treatment,” wherein every available free agent or trade target is linked to his Eagles. The two-time Super Bowl-winning GM isn’t shy about adding veteran depth — see Julio Jones, 2023 — and Philly’s drop-off behind A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith is steep. Jahan Dotson, the team’s WR3, put up 216 yards last season. Behind that trio sits 2024 sixth-rounder Johnny Wilson and another reclamation project in Terrace Marshall Jr. As they did last year before the Dotson trade, the Eagles could let things shake out and see if any youngsters are ready to take on a bigger role. However, adding a veteran could make sense as we near the season. Philly offers Cooper a legit shot at chasing a ring in 2025 that others on this list cannot.

10 best NFL free agents still unsigned after the draft, ranked – SB Nation8. Amari Cooper, WR. The best receiver left on the market, Cooper is definitely at his best as a second option at this stage, but can still be incredibly effective. Cooper wins with route running and separation in the short to intermediate areas of the field, but doesn’t have the same juice as when he was a primary option. For teams that need a quality number two receiver, Cooper is the best one on the board.

Eagles jersey numbers for new non-rookies … and some notable returning player changes – BGNThe first thought that came to mind for AJ Dillon wearing No. 29 is DeMarco Murray once wearing that number. Yikes. But then I quickly flushed that bad memory from my mind by thinking of LeGarrette Blount wearing No. 29 in 2017. Blount was obviously a big, bruising back at 6’0”, 247 pounds. Dillon is also listed at 6’0”, 247 pounds. So, Dillon is the new Blount confirmed.

NFL Power Rankings 2025: Which teams improved in the draft? – ESPN2. Philadelphia Eagles. Post-free agency ranking: 2. Most improved position: Linebacker. The Eagles lost a bunch of talent on defense this offseason with the departures of edge rushers Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham, cornerback Darius Slay Jr., safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson and defensive tackle Milton Williams. It was a different story at linebacker, as they re-signed Zack Baun to a lucrative contract, selected Jihaad Campbell in the first round and then added Smael Mondon Jr. in the fifth. Nakobe Dean is still recovering from a torn patellar tendon, but Philadelphia will have plenty of options at linebacker once he is healthy.

Eagles rookie eager to follow in his father’s massive footsteps – NBCSP“He didn’t talk about it much,” Myles said last week. “But once I started really getting into football and playing O-line for real, like really understanding what was going on, is when I kind of understood that he was that guy. So I do some research on him, watch YouTube videos and whatnot. But yeah, dude, it’s crazy.” When Myles got old enough, he and his dad sat down to watch some old film. Chris Hinton’s first college game at Northwestern was actually against Michigan. So Myles got to watch his dad — then a tight end — play at the Big House, which became home for Myles in 2023 after transferring from Stanford. After they watched tape of Chris as a tight end and even a linebacker before eventually becoming an offensive lineman at Northwestern, father and son moved on to the NFL tape and that was at times dominant. “He was tearing s— up, you know?,” Myles Hinton said. “It’s big shoes to fill. I’m ready.”

The biggest draft hauls by WAA: Ranking every NFL team – PFF3. Philadelphia Eagles: 2.514 WAA added.

Rams sign Britain Covey to a one-year deal – Turf Show TimesCovey went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft after playing for the University of Utah and before signing as an undrafted free agent with the Birds. Britain ended up with Philly for the ‘22, ‘23 and ‘24 seasons, and though he was hurt for most of the Eagles’ Super Bowl run, he still earned himself a ring and now brings that championship pedigree to Sean McVay and L.A. Covey led the NFL in punt return yards in 2023, and has amassed 771 yards on punts returns and 236 yards on kickoff returns. He’s also notched 11 receptions for 76 yards. Seemingly the Rams are adding him as a return man, but because of his experience and because McVay is considered such a brilliant head coach, Covey’s usage with the team could be worth monitoring, and he could be a bigger factor with the Rams than he was in his first few seasons with the Eagles.

News: Raiders’ front office gets major boost, hiring Anthony Patch from Eagles – Silver And Black PrideThe Las Vegas Raiders announced they’re hiring Anthony Patch as a senior personnel executive on Monday. Patch was previously the Philadelphia Eagles’ longest-tenured scouting staff member, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer, and most recently served as the Eagles’ director of college scouting.

What We Learned About Adam Peters’ Team Building Approach in the 2025 Draft Season: Part 1 – Hogs HavenBut the trade did incur a fairly steep cost in terms of cashing in future investment capital for short term gain. Instead of having three chances in the 2025 and 2026 drafts to add players on rookie contracts for four years, the Commanders acquired a single player under contract for two years. Of course, Tunsil is a known quantity, and the draft prospects Washington will have to forgo are anything but sure bets. Based on historical data, the chance that three players selected in rounds 2-4 will all become starters is well south of 50%. But the point remains that trading draft picks for veterans shortens the horizon for return on investment from the team’s draft capital. The same logic applies equally to the midseason trade for Marshon Lattimore, in which the Commanders sent picks 93, 131 and 184 to New Orleans, in exchange for Lattimore and pick 147, and to trading 147 to the 49ers for Deebo Samuel. Although the impact of the Deebo trade is fairly minimal. These trades reveal that, while Peters may be committed to a future focus within the draft, he is not averse to mortgaging some of the team’s future to get better right away, when the right opportunity presents itself. It can be argued that these moves were necessitated by the state Ron Rivera left the roster in at key positions, given the uncertainty and timeline of building through the draft. But the fact remains that the Commanders were left with 10 picks in the 2025 and 2026 drafts. If the Commanders are truly committed to the build through the draft philosophy that Peters espouses, they will need to make a transition from a net expender of draft picks to a net accumulator. Perhaps this off-season’s additions will get the roster over the hump to make that possible.

The Cowboys still need to decide on a starting nickel cornerback – Blogging The BoysThe Cowboys have done a decent job of throwing bodies at the cornerback position after Jourdan Lewis’ departure. After losing Lewis to the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency, the Cowboys answered by trading for Bills cornerback Kaiir Elam, re-signing Israel Mukuamu, and drafting Shavon Revel in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft. The issue? None of those players are primary slot cornerbacks. Elam and Revel played primarily on the outside in Buffalo and at East Carolina. Both guys are taller, longer, and fit the boundary cornerback profile more. Mukuamu has seen some time in the slot for the Cowboys over the course of his four-year career in Dallas, but his lack of experience (three starts) and ideal fit to be a full-time nickel cornerback leaves the Cowboys with an interesting hole to fill.

Michael Strahan bidding for minority ownership stake in New York Giants – Big Blue ViewMichael Strahan is reportedly bidding to become a minority owner of the New York Giants. Per a report from Sportico, the Pro Football Hall of Famer and former Giants star has joined billionaire Marc Lasry in an effort to purchase a 10% share that is up for sale. Significantly, Sportico also reported that former Giants quarterback Eli Manning will not be part of that group. Bloomberg reported recently that Manning had spoken to potential investors, including other former players, about bidding for the share of the team the Mara and Tisch families have made available.

PGA Tour playing in Philadelphia for first time in over 5 years – Playing ThroughThe Philly Cricket Club is the oldest private club in the United States having been founded in 1854. It’s last tournament of serious record to host was the 2016 Senior Players Championship which Bernhard Langer won. Ultimately the PGA Tour hasn’t been to Philadelphia at large since the 2018 BMW Championship which U.S. Ryder Cup Captain Keegan Bradley won. We are seeing some different areas profiled across the sport of golf as a whole this season what with the PGA Tour returning to Philadelphia and the LPGA Tour recently hosting an event in Utah for the first time in over 60 years. We will see who comes out on top in Philly this week.
