Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links …

2025 NFL Draft: Ten rookies in the best situations to succeed in Year 1 and beyond – NFL.com8) JIHAAD CAMPBELL. Campbell was the biggest steal of the draft. A top 10-caliber talent, he was still available late in the first round after undergoing shoulder injury in the spring. The Alabama product joins an already dynamic Eagles defense that just stomped the Chiefs in the Super Bowl, and he’ll have a chance start immediately in place of Nakobe Dean, who sustained a knee injury in mid-January. Starring as an off-ball linebacker and pass rusher in his final season with the Crimson Tide, Campbell is a player that defensive coordinator Vic Fangio can utilize in multiple roles, much like Fangio did with Zack Baun last season. Campbell won’t face the pressure of having to be the guy with so many talented players around him. Fangio has a history of working with dynamic linebackers (SEE: Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman), and Campbell, who has greater upside than even Baun, is the newest member of the club.

Bryce Huff trade: Eagles reportedly send free agent flop to 49ers in exchange for draft pick – BGNHuff’s departure certainly doesn’t come as a surprise. He was incredibly disappointing for the Eagles last season after being their top 2024 free agent signing in terms of contract value (yes, even above Saquon Barkley). Dating back to last year’s training camp, Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio didn’t exactly seem keen on Huff’s outlook. Huff then struggled in the regular season to the point where he was “unplayable.” He suffered a thumb injury in early November that caused him to play with a cast on his hand before going on injured reserve. Huff later returned from IR but he barely played in the playoffs; he was a healthy scratch in the Eagles’ Super Bowl LIX victory.

49ers strike trade with Eagles for pass rusher who had 10 sacks playing for Robert Saleh – Niners NationThere has been criticism of Huff’s play in run defense. However, it is unlikely the 49ers will place too much of a burden on him in that regard. Instead, expect the 49ers to return Huff to a rotational role in which he will be given the freedom to attack and serve as the speed-rushing complement to Nick Bosa that San Francisco has lacked since Dee Ford’s departure. There is, of course, no guarantee that a change of scenery and a reunion with Saleh will have the desired results. However, with the restructure of his contract, it is the kind of low-risk, high-reward bet the 49ers can afford to make. Huff becomes the 49ers’ much-needed pass-rush specialist. He won’t have to worry about being an every-down player with the likes of Mykel Williams and Nick Bosa. It should also allow Mykel to kick inside on obvious passing downs and is insurance in case Yetur Gross-Matos doesn’t stay healthy for the second season in a row. Furthermore, it takes the pressure off Sam Okuayinonu or Robert Beal Jr. to go above and beyond production-wise.

Eagles to Trade Bryce Huff to the 49ers – Over The CapThe trade, which will be processed after June 1, will result in the Eagles taking on $4.94 million in dead money this year. They will defer $16.6 million to next season. While there is a lot of chatter about the Eagles creating over $15 million in space this year the reality is Huff’s original cap number was just $7.4 million so really the team is only $2.4 million better off than originally expected. They will be about $5 million worse off in 2026 than his original contract’s salary cap number. I believe the Eagles will get a $250,000 cap credit in 2026 for a guaranteed workout bonus that already counted on the cap for the Eagles. Overall the signing of Huff from the Jets was a miss for the Eagles. Huff was a specialist player in New York that the Eagles thought could play a bigger role. He ended up playing in just 12 games and only had 2.5 sacks while appearing in about 40% of the snaps, the same use level as with New York. The final bill for the Eagles will be $26.05 million for those 12 games making this one of the bottom free agent deals of recent times. Still better to just cut ties now and get a little something in return than to pay another $7.95 million for the same poor results.

A list of starters the Eagles have traded, and how those trades worked out for the acquiring teams – PhillyVoiceSummary: If you’re trading for a former starter the Eagles are happy to get rid of, it’s probably not going to be a success story.

Huff is History – Iggles BlitzAs a friend pointed out, that pick can also be used in a trade. Howie can move up by trading that pick if he wants to go get a player. They traded up for Jalen Carter, Cooper DeJean and Jihad Campbell in the past few years. Having extra ammo gives Howie the option to be aggressive. That has worked out pretty well so it is a good thing when he has picks to work with. It is crazy to think that if you went back to May of 2024 and told an Eagles fan Huff would be a complete bust they would assume the season to be another disappointment. Instead the defense finished #1 and the Eagles won the Super Bowl in a blowout. Howie took a chance. It didn’t work. Howie won’t get gun-shy, though. He’s not afraid to fail. He’s had picks and trades that didn’t pan out. He keeps right on swinging. That’s how you build a championship roster. You have to take chances. No one saw Jalen Hurts getting picked by the Eagles in 2021. There was a risk in taking Landon Dickerson because of his injury history. There was a risk in drafting Jalen Carter because of his off-field issues. Trading for CJGJ back in 2022 had some risk involved.

Spadaro: Dallas Goedert is a big part of the offense – PE.comThere was “uncertainty,” tight end Dallas Goedert admits. In the weeks and months after winning Super Bowl LIX, Goedert felt “a lot of emotions” about his status for the 2025 season with the Eagles, but that is all resolved. It is completely secure. Goedert is “super stoked” to be a huge part of the Eagles’ offense once again. And that’s that. “I’m excited that we were able to get something done and I could come back here to a place where I’m really comfortable and be with a lot of people that I’ve got a lot of love for,” Goedert said. “I’m glad to be back.”

Eagles stars to speak at Life Surge, a Christian wealth seminar run by founder with fraud allegations – InquirerFive current and former members of the Philadelphia Eagles — including head coach Nick Sirianni and star running back Saquon Barkley — are set to headline a financial seminar at the Wells Fargo Center organized by a man whose companies have faced allegations of mismanagement, fraud, or deceptive business practices, an Inquirer review has found. On Saturday, Philadelphia’s 21,000-seat Wells Fargo Center will be transformed into the home of Life Surge, a Christian motivational speaking series and investing seminar that has visited dozens of cities across the U.S. over the past year. The Philadelphia event — billed as the “Champions of Faith” — has an ad promoting celebrity speakers, laser-lights, musicians, and the chance to “learn how to create and multiply financial resources” using principles rooted in Christianity. But public records show that dating to the 1990s, Life Surge founder and self-described “serial entrepreneur” Joe Johnson was a principal of at least a half dozen companies and charities that were subject to controversy or financial disarray.

Former Philadelphia Eagles Player Charged With DUI in Ferguson Township – State CollegeJuqua D. Parker, 47, who resides in Huntingdon County, crashed his Chevrolet Corvette at about 1:45 a.m. on March 29 on the 3200 block of W. Pine Grove Rd., according to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Ferguson Township police. An officer arrived to find the vehicle had “severe disabling damage” and the airbags had been deployed. No one else was in the car, and aside from a minor laceration on his finger, Parker was uninjured, police wrote.

The 5 O’Clock Club: How much will Terry McLaurin get on his upcoming contract extension? – Hogs HavenThree years feels about right. The right value for his deal depends on how you see his place in the pantheon of contemporary wide receivers. Per Over the Cap, this is the list of the top-25 WR contracts in the NFL at the moment. Terry McLaurin currently ranks 16th with an APY of $23.2m.

3 potential breakout players who could help the Cowboys for reasons you might not expect – Blogging The BoysKaVontae Turpin: Why Turpin? Because he just signed a three-year extension this offseason, meaning he’s sticking around through 2027. You could also make a case for last year’s sixth-round pick, Ryan Flournoy, as he also has three years left on his deal. Turpin is still the better choice because he’s also an All-Pro returner. If you’re a Jalen Tolbert fan, it would be great to see him do well, but the timing would stink because he’ll enter free agency next offseason. Parris Campbell is also an unfavorable choice since he’s only on a one-year deal. Jonathan Mingo or Jalen Brooks have two years left on their rookie deals, so one of them emerging would be okay, but still not as advantageous as Turpin or Flournoy. We should add that any undrafted free agent would come with up to four years of player control (counting the year they’re a restricted free agent), so any rookie, drafted or undrafted, will always be most desirable should they breakout.

NFL 2025 contracts: Parsons, Watt, Hendrickson, more star negotiations – ESPNMicah Parsons, LB, Dallas Cowboys. Latest on negotiations: After Jerry Jones and Parsons had a private meeting in March in which the owner and general manager felt they had an agreement on the length of the deal, total dollars and the guaranteed money, things have slowed considerably. There has not been much dialogue from either side on closing any gaps. It’s shaping up as another hurry-up-and-wait negotiation, much like the Cowboys had last offseason with CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott. Lamb missed almost all of training camp before signing in August. Prescott’s deal was finalized the day of the season opener, but he did not miss a practice. Parsons has been around for parts of the offseason. The next key date will be the mandatory minicamp that runs June 10-12. Lamb skipped that last year. Could Parsons do the same this year?

Jaxson Dart signs contract with New York Giants – Big Blue ViewJaxson Dart, the 25th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, has signed his rookie contract with the New York Giants. The team announced the news on their website Friday afternoon. The No. 25 overall selection is the fifth member of the seven-player draft class to sign his rookie deal, joining outside linebacker Abdul Carter (third overall pick), offensive lineman Marcus Mbow (fifth round), tight end Thomas Fidone II (seventh round), and cornerback Korie Black (seventh round). That leaves only third-round pick Darius Alexander and fourth-round pick Cam Skattebo unsigned.

Best bets for 2025 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year – SB NationJaxson Dart, quarterback, New York Giants. This is my favorite current bet for this award. The first-round pick is priced at 22-1. That is a great value for a quarterback. The key is that the Giants make Dart the starter early in the season to help him compile the numbers it takes to win the award. There has been no current indication of that happening. Yet, that could change quickly. Dart has been getting a lot of love for his polish and leadership in the offseason work. If coach Brian Daboll, who is entering the season on the hot seat, sees enough in training camp and the preseason to believe the job won’t be too big for Dart, he could get the job early. The Giants know what they have in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston. Dart is the future and it could start soon. If it does, this is fabulous value. Oh, and yes, East Coast bias is a thing in these types of votes. Take advantage of it.
