The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller Thursday, a day after his first Major League start of the season.

Miller allowed six earned runs in three innings, including a grand slam and a home run against the Colorado Rockies Wednesday. Nevertheless, the Dodgers completed the sweep over Colorado with an 8-7 victory.
With Blake Snell on the injured list and the Dodgers using a six-man rotation, L.A. turned to Miller to pitch in the series finale at Dodger Stadium. The right-hander arrived to L.A. with a 2.25 ERA across three appearances in Triple-A this season.
The Dodgers hoped Miller would be able to perform like he did his rookie year, where he logged a 3.76 ERA with 119 strikeouts across 124.1 innings pitched. However, the right-hander unfortunately continued where he left off in 2024.
Miller produced an 8.52 ERA across 56 innings pitched last season, which cost him his spot in the starting rotation. He arrived at Camelback Ranch as one of three starting pitchers competing for the final spot in the rotation, but was sidelined after he was hit by a comebacker in the Dodgers’ Cactus League opener.
The Dodgers gave Miller an opportunity to prove himself, but the right-hander had another disappointing performance.
