‘During Thursday’s UFC 314 Pre-Fight Press Conference, featherweights Diego Lopes and Yair Rodriguez had to be held back by security. The two aren’t even fighting each other.
Lopes headlines the event taking on former champion Alexander Volkanovski for the vacant 145-pound championship. Rodriguez welcomes former Bellator two-division champion Patrício “Pitbull” Freire to the octagon.
Lopes was asked about facing Rodriguez later this year at on the UFC Noche fight card. Lopes responded, “How many losses does he have in a row?” “How many? Two? That’s not enough.”
Rodriguez stood and the two shouted at each other while security kept the apart. Their beef stems dates back a few years. Rodriguez accused Lopes and his team of beating up former UFC fighter and Rodriguez friend Marco Beltrán in 2019. Watch the altercation below.
