Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will take on the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 40th match of IPL 2025 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. This article provides details about Delhi Capitals’ Playing 11 vs LSG for match 40 of IPL 2025.

Delhi Capitals Playing 11 vs LSG- IPL 2025, Match 40:

Openers: Abishek Porel, Karun Nair

Abhishek Porel will open the innings for Delhi Capitals in the upcoming match against LSG along with Karun Nair. The left-handed batter will look to play in an aggressive manner against the new ball, something like he did in the last game against GT, and get a big score under his belt.

Karun Nair, who opened the innings against GT, will join Abhishek Porel at the top of the order for DC. The right-hand batter will look to get going after failing to capitalize on the good start he got against the Titans.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: KL Rahul (wk), Tristan Stubbs, Axar Patel (c), Ashutosh Sharma, Donovan Ferreira

Delhi Capitals has a strong and in-form middle order at its disposal, which includes the likes of KL Rahul, Axar Patel, Tristan Stubbs, and Ashutosh Sharma, all of whom looked in fine touch but were unable to convert them into big scores against GT, and will look to rectify that in the upcoming game.

KL Rahul, who looked in great touch and it seemed like the wicketkeeper batter had his eyes set on a big score, was trapped in front of the wicket by Prasidh Krishna, which halted a short but crisp innings of 28 runs at a strike rate of 200.

The right-hander would look to get back among runs when he takes he field in the next match against his former team, Lucknow Super Giants, at their home ground.

Axar Patel, who has received praise for his captaincy in the Delhi Capitals thus far, will look to continue the good work he has done while leading DC in the match against LSG.

The left-arm spinner was able to put on a strong display of batting against GT and played a crucial role in taking DC to a challenging total of 203 runs, courtesy of his aggressive batting approach in the middle overs.

Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Vipraj Nigam, Mitchell Starc, Mohit Sharma, Mukesh Kumar

Starc, who bowled a match-winning super over for the Delhi Capitals against RR in their second match in Delhi, would like to do the same against LSG after a disappointing performance against GT, which saw Buttler hitting him for five consecutive boundaries.

Starc would hope to get a good amount of support from the other end from fellow fast bowlers Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma, both of whom haven’t lived up to expectations so far.

DC would also pin their hopes on the spin bowling trio of Axar Patel, Vipraj Nigam, and Kuldeep Yadav to break the back of LSG’s strong batting lineup in the middle overs, something that the Capitals have lacked in the tournament so far.
