The Los Angeles Rams organization has been known to have great running backs over the years, from Eric Dickerson to Marshall Faulk to Steven Jackson to Todd Gurley, and now Kyren Williams.
Faulk, in particular, was one of the most unique running backs in NFL history as a running and pass threat combination. He obviously has a lot of knowledge to spread about the running back position and now will get to do so at the college level.
The Colorado Buffaloes, led by head coach Deion Sanders, announced they have hired Faulk to coach their running backs:
One of the greatest to ever play the game.

Faulk joins a staff at Colorado that now includes three Pro Football Hall of Famers with him, Sanders and Warren Sapp.
Some of Faulk’s accolades from his playing career include being named NFL MVP in 2000, three-time Offensive Player of the Year, Super Bowl winner, seven-time Pro Bowl selection and six-time All-Pro, including three first-team nods.
In addition to being named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Faulk is also a member of the College Football Hall of Fame. He played three seasons at San Diego State and was a three-time first-team All-American, including two unanimous selections. Faulk finished in the top 10 in the Heisman voting all three seasons and was the runner-up his sophomore season.
Faulk was drafted second overall by the Indianapolis Colts in 1994 and after five seasons with the team, he moved on to the St. Louis Rams. With the Rams, he was one of the driving forces for the “Greatest Show on Turf” in which the organization had two Super Bowl appearances and one victory.
Faulk is the only player in NFL history with 12,000 rushing and 6,000 receiving yards and 130 touchdowns. He was the second player in NFL history to have over 1,000 rushing and receiving yards in the same season.
Marshall Faulk originally did not want Rams to hire Sean McVay
Rams president Kevin Demoff recently told a story about how after Marshall Faulk originally met Sean McVay, he wanted the organization to go in a different direction for head coach before quickly changing his mind.
“Marshall was the perfect person because he was explaining to me why we had needed a veteran offensive mind to be the head coach,” Demoff said. “And he was happy to go to dinner with this 30-year-old, but he thought that was stupid, and that we were stupid.”
“At dinner, the two of them got going and they hit it off immediately. They’re talking the whole time. I remember walking out and Marshall told Stan [Kroenke], he goes, ‘You let that guy leave tomorrow, you’ve made a huge mistake. That’s your guy.’”
