DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — After 11 laps, the 67th Daytona 500 at Daytona Int’l Speedway is under a red flag due to rain.
Led by polesitter Chase Briscoe at the start, the Great American Race went caution-free until rain began to fall.
Team Penske’s Austin Cindric currently leads with Ty Dillon, Briscoe, Joey Logano and Bubba Wallace rounding out the top five.
Upon sitting on pit road for a handful of minutes, NASCAR officials told the 41 drivers to exit their race cars. Teams have also been told to prepare for heavy wind gusts.
At 4:59 p.m. ET, NASCAR issued a call for drivers to return to their race cars at 5:25 p.m.
