Davide Ancelotti, the son of Brazil manager Carlo, will join his father as part of the national team’s coaching setup, the Brazilian football confederation has confirmed.
The appointment continues a professional partnership between father and son that started over a decade ago, with Davide having worked under Carlo as an assistant coach at Napoli, Everton, Bayern Munich and most recently Real Madrid.
Davide had been in contention for the Rangers head coach role, however, the Scottish club appointed Russell Martin as their new boss on Thursday.
The 35-year-old Italian, you spent time in the AC Milan academy as a youth player, will now join up with the Brazil team in Sao Paulo as one of the team’s assistant coaches.

The Brazil Football Confederation said in a statement: “The arrival of Davide Ancelotti to the National Team represents another step by the CBF in its quest for innovation and technical improvement.
“His international experience and training methodologies will be fundamental for the development of the players and for building an even more competitive team.
“The CBF welcomes Davide Ancelotti and is confident that his presence will be an important reinforcement in the Brazilian National Team’s journey towards its objectives.”
Carlo Ancelotti was appointed as Brazil’s head coach on a one-year-deal after leaving Real Madrid in May.
The move marked the 65-year-old’s first foray into international management ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Ancelotti Snr’s first game ended in a goalless draw against Ecuador.
