After months of uncertainty, Dana White has provided an update on the ongoing Jon Jones vs. Tom Aspinall saga.
Despite interest from the Brit’s side and fans worldwide, ‘Bones’ has never seemed convinced about taking the fight. After announcing his decision not to retire, the UFC heavyweight king named several opponents he’d like to face next but the interim champion wasn’t on his list.
With a lack of movement on the bout, Dana White has hinted at some damning news. According to the UFC CEO, the promotion will still look to push ahead with making it happen by all means necessary.
“It’s the biggest fight we can make,” White said. “I know the fans like to mess with Jon or whatever, Jon Jones isn’t afraid of anybody.”
“Jon Jones will fight anybody, it’s just a matter of getting the fight done now. That’s our job.”
However, if things continue to stagnate around the fight, Dana White revealed that he will look to move in a different direction.
“100% [I will look elsewhere if the fight doesn’t see any progression]. Listen, if we don’t get the fight done, we move on and we make another fight.”

While the fight may not come to fruition, White did soften the blow by claiming he has some huge fights in the works.
“But not last night but the night before, I was up in my room with my people until like 6:00 in the morning. We’re working on lots of stuff right now.”
“There’s lots of really good sh*t going on right now.”
Whether or not it’s against Jon Jones, Tom Aspinall is adamant that he will fight for undisputed UFC gold next time out.
