The Golden State Warriors are at a crossroads. With just 11 games left before the playoffs, they need every bit of firepower to secure a strong postseason position. But their biggest weapon, Stephen Curry, remains a question mark. The four-time NBA champion suffered a pelvic contusion after a hard fall against the Toronto Raptors on March 20.
While an MRI cleared him of serious damage, his return remains uncertain. As the Warriors continue their six-game road trip and prepare to face the Miami Heat next, all eyes are on Curry’s status — will he suit up, or will Golden State play it safe?
ESPN’s Shams Charania Drops Key Update on Curry’s Status
The Warriors fans have been anxiously awaiting news on Curry’s injury, and ESPN insider Shams Charania just delivered a major update. According to the NBA insider, Curry is traveling to Miami with the team, but his availability for the matchup against the Heat on Tuesday, March 25 depends on how his pelvic bruise responds to treatment over the next two days.
“Stephen Curry is traveling to join the Warriors in Miami, and his status for Tuesday’s game against the Heat depends on treatment response for his pelvic bruise over next two days, sources tell ESPN. Golden State is on game two of a six-game trip,” he posted on X.

This follows Charania’s earlier report on March 21, where he confirmed that an MRI showed no structural damage — just a contusion. That tweet alone racked up over 2.1 million views, proving just how much Curry’s health dominates NBA conversations.
“MRI on Warriors star Stephen Curry’s pelvic area confirmed a contusion and no structural damage, sources tell ESPN. Curry is expected to miss the start of Golden State’s six-game road trip, beginning Saturday in Atlanta, as he receives treatment over the next few days,” Charania had reported.
The injury occurred on March 20, when Curry took a hard fall against Toronto, colliding with Jonathan Mogbo and Colin Castleton.
The two-time NBA MVP has missed 11 games this season, including just one since his latest injury. The Warriors, currently sixth in the Western Conference with a 41-30 record, have gone 8-2 in their last 10 games.
However, they kicked off their road trip with a tough 124-115 loss to the Atlanta Hawks without Curry on March 22, highlighting how much they miss their floor general.
Should the Warriors Rush Curry’s Return?
While Curry’s return would be a huge boost, the Warriors must weigh the risks. Their recent trade deadline move for Jimmy Butler III has already paid dividends, as the Warriors are 16-3 with Butler in the lineup since the trade. Butler stepped up in Curry’s absence, dropping 25 points, eight assists, and four rebounds in their last game against the Hawks.
With limited games left before the playoffs, Golden State may want to play it safe rather than risk its leader’s health. After all, it pulled off a 117-114 win the night Curry got injured. Now, with Butler in the mix and five more road games ahead, the Warriors might have just enough firepower to handle Miami without rushing Curry back onto the court.
