Elrigh Louw has given an update on his injury situation after the Springbok and Vodacom Bulls loose forward underwent knee surgery.
Louw was rushed to hospital during Saturday’s win for the Bulls against Jukskei derby rivals, the Lions at Ellis Park.
He was stretchered from the field after the hard-running flanker suffered a gruesome knee injury during a tackle from fellow Bok Ruan Venter.
The Herd also lost captain Ruan Nortje to a knee injury early in the first half. As yet there has been no news on the six-Test lock’s condition.

Despite these setbacks, the Bulls bench rallied the team to a 35-22 victory with three tries in the second half.
The 25-year-old Louw gave an update on his condition on social media, posting “Long and uncertain road ahead, but I WILL be back”.
Teammates Cameron Hanekom and Johan Goosen, who is also sidelined following a knee injury, and two-time World Cup winner Damian Willemse were among those replying to his post wishing him a swift recovery.
