Morgan Gibbs-White is a great fit for Spurs but must learn from a long history of Premier League transfer mistakes

At 40 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo continues to light up scoreboards in Saudi Arabia. In 2023, after his departure from Manchester United, he landed at Al-Nassr and continued to extend his impressive goalscoring record. With 934 goals in his entire career, CR7 is the highest goalscorer in the history of world soccer and is getting closer and closer to one thousand. The talent, which runs in the blood, seems to have been passed on to his eldest son, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., who has been called up for the first time to the Portugal National Team.

Following in the footsteps of his legendary father, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr. has received his first call-up to the Portugal national team, albeit for the Under-15 squad. This marks a significant milestone in the young player’s burgeoning career.

Proud father and grandmother

“Proud of you, son,” CR7 posted on his social media sharing the call-up. “I am very proud of my boy who follows in his father’s footsteps representing our selection. Grandmother will be there supporting you. PRIDE,” also published Dolores Aveiro, CR7’s mother.

Cristiano Jr., who started at Juventus and then passed through Manchester United, followed his father’s career and currently plays in the youth divisions of Al-Nassr. With this call-up, a particular fact will occur: father and son will play for the selection of their country.

Carrying on the legacy

Cristiano Jr., who has followed his father’s career path, is now making a name for himself in Al-Nassr’s youth setup. He has shown flashes of brilliance, inheriting his father’s skill, work ethic, and determination. It seems that the Ronaldo name is set to continue being prominent in soccer! This call-up to the Portugal U-15 team is just the start of his journey, and he has the potential to reach the highest level.

While Cristiano seeks to qualify Portugal for the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico, and Canada with the senior team, the boy will be in the Under-15s. It is a unique moment that has not been achieved ever before, or barely achieved at all. If Jr. keeps following in his father’s footsteps, we will certainly hear more.

As Cristiano Jr. embarks on his international journey, the soccer world eagerly anticipates the next chapter in the Ronaldo family’s legacy. With talent, determination, and a famous last name on his side, the future looks bright.
