Former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor continues to make headlines for his actions outside of the cage.  The Irishman was caught on video spitting in a fan’s face and could face legal action as a result.

McGregor was walking with his entourage when a fan asked him for a photo.  Another fan began chanting ‘Let’s go Khabib,’ referencing McGregor’s storied rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov.  McGregor turned around and approached the male in question and then spit in his face.

“I spit in your face. What you do? Nothing,” McGregor said to the fan as he walked away.

Spitting on someone is a crime.  It typically results in a battery or assault charge in nearly every country on the planet.  It’s unclear whether the fan will pursuit legal action.

The incident is just the latest in McGregor’s long history of controversy.  In November, an Irish court jury found McGregor liable for sexually assaulting Nikita Hand in December 2018. Hand was awarded approximately $250,000 in damages and McGregor was also ordered to pay her legal fees.  In 2019, McGregor was convicted and fined in an Irish court on for assaulting a man in a Dublin pub.

In March 2019, McGregor was arrested and charged in Miami, Florida, for allegedly smashing and taking a fan’s phone. It was the second time in less than a year that McGregor had been served with felony charges.  He was also arrested on a felony charge for attacking a bus full of UFC 223 fighters following that event’s media day in Brooklyn in April of 2018.
