Conor McGregor is stirring the pot again.

The biggest star in the history of MMA hasn’t competed in nearly four years, but is talking about what it would take to return to the UFC’s octagon. Following the business success of WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, McGregor reacted on Twitter, laying out a condition for his return.

“I’ll only come back to a stadium,” McGregor wrote.

“The Notorious” was slated to compete this past June in the main event of UFC 303 — the promotion’s annual International Fight Week card — against opposing coach on The Ultimate Fighter, Michael Chandler. A few weeks before the scheduled bout, McGregor withdrew with a toe injury.

McGregor followed up his return tweet with a message to Chandler.

IRON MIKE CHANDLER. Unfinished business.

— Conor McGregor (@TheNotoriousMMA) April 22, 2025

“Iron Mike Chandler. Unfinished business,” McGregor wrote.

And Chandler is all for it. Shortly after McGregor’s posts, the former Bellator champion responded signaling his interest.

“Unfinished business loading….” Chandler wrote.

Chandler then followed up with a series of posts on Threads.

“Dust off the old contract and add some new ink…” Chandler wrote. “I’m ready tomorrow.

“YOUR WORD IS YOUR BOND, IF YOUR WORD IS NO GOOD THEN EVENTUALLY YOU ARE NO GOOD.”

McGregor has been plenty business in his long layoff since suffering a brutal leg injury in a stoppage loss to Dustin Poirier in his most recent bout at UFC 264 in July 2021. The former two-division champ has become part-owner of BKFC and has pushed for a run for President of Ireland.

Chandler is coming off a TKO loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314 earlier this month.
