Arsenal make Rodrygo Goes their dream transfer target

Juventus and Manchester City face off with both sides already sure of their place in the Club World Cup knockouts, but with both vying to claim top spot in Group G.

Both Juve and City beat Wydad Casablanca and Al Ain to seal last-16 spots. However, a second-place finish in the group will likely  mean a last-16 clash with Real Madrid.

That is something they will want to avoid and City boss Pep Guardiola has made a big call on one of his most important players, Ballon d’Or winner Rodri.

Juventus team news

Juventus boss Igor Tudor has surprisingly dropped each member of an attack that has fired on all cylinders through the first two games.

Randal Kolo Muani, Francisco Conceicao and Kenan Yildiz are all left out, with Nicolas Gonzalez, Dusan Vlahovic and Teun Koopmeiners coming in.

In the midfield, Manuel Locatelli and Filip Kostic come in for Khephren Thuram and Andrea Cambiaso.

Juventus: Di Gregorio, Kelly, Savona, Kalulu; Costa, Locatelli, McKennie, Kostic; González, Koopmeiners, Vlahovic.

Substitutes: Adzic, Bremer, Cambiaso, Conceicao, Daffara, Douglas Luiz, Garofani, Gatti, Kolo Muani, Milik, Pinsoglio, Rouhi, Rugani, Thuram, Yildiz.

Manchester City team news

Pep Guardiola has made seven changes from the side that thrashed Al Ain 6-0, with Rodri making his first start since his knee ligament injury in September.

He will patrol the midfielder alongside Tijjani Reijnders, who comes back into the starting XI, and Bernardo Silva.

Ruben Dias makes his first start of the competition at centre-back, with Ederson returning in goal in place of Stefan Ortega.

Savinho, Omar Marmoush and Jeremy Doku come in to play in the front three, with Erling Haaland, Claudio Echeverri and Ilkay Gundogan all dropping to the bench.

Abdukodir Khusanov, Josko Gvardiol and Nico Gonzalez are also omitted from the starting XI.

Manchester City: Ederson; Nunes, Akanji, Dias, Ait-Nouri; Rodri, Reijnders, Bernardo; Savinho, Marmoush, Doku.

Substitutes: Bettinelli, Ortega Moreno, Stones, Ake, Haaland, Nico, Gundogan, Reis, Gvardiol, Cherki, Khusanov, Foden, Bobb, O’Reilly.
