Cody Rhodes is set to address John Cena’s attack tonight on SmackDown – and the WWE champion needs to come out swinging.

At WWE Elimination Chamber, Cody Rhodes was betrayed. After telling The Rock to go “f***” himself, John Cena turned heel and proceeded to beat Cody down alongside ‘The Great One’ and Travis Scott. In addition to reportedly sustaining a nasty injury from Scott’s stiff shots, Cody also bled all over the ring.

He was embarrassed, humiliated, and left in a heap as he prepares to defend the belt against John Cena at WrestleMania 41. Tonight, he’s set to come out and address what went down in Toronto – and we need him to really bring the heat.

Cody Rhodes’ time is now

For the last year, and probably beyond that, Cody Rhodes has been getting beaten down and betrayed by a variety of different superstars. While we’ve been able to see the animal get unleashed on several occasions, this is the time where it matters the most.

We want to see ‘The American Nightmare’ really come to the forefront. We want his passion and anger to be on full display as he lets Cena know that he messed with the wrong guy. We want to believe that heading into Mania, he can bring the kind of heat and intensity that this feud needs in order to succeed.

Yes, he can focus some of his energy on The Rock, but this is all about Cody Rhodes vs John Cena. Two men who have defined their respective generations. Two men who will do whatever it takes to be at the very top.

This has ‘generational feud’ written all over it, and all that’s left is to hear from the man himself as he attempts to come to terms with one of the greatest heel turns in the history of the business.
