Manchester City are reportedly ready to smash transfer records to land Barcelona’s midfield sensation Pedri this summer. According to Fichajes, Pep Guardiola is eager to rejuvenate his midfield and views the Spanish international as the perfect addition to his evolving project.

At just 22, Pedri has already amassed nearly 200 appearances for Barça since joining from Las Palmas in 2019. Known for his elite vision, ball control, and tactical intelligence, he’s become a cornerstone of Xavi’s plans—both in the present and for the future.

Pedri: The Perfect Fit for City’s Style?

Primarily a central midfielder but versatile enough to play as a No. 10, Pedri would bring the kind of composure and creativity that Guardiola adores. With long-time target Florian Wirtz likely heading to Bayern Munich, Pedri has emerged as the top alternative on City’s radar.

The reigning Premier League champions are reportedly prepared to table a €200 million offer—an audacious move that would shatter their transfer record.

Will Barcelona Budge?

Despite their financial woes, Barcelona remain firm. Pedri is considered “untouchable,” and sources suggest the player himself has no intention of leaving Camp Nou. The Catalan club view him as a generational talent and a central figure in their long-term rebuild.

Still, with Manchester City willing to spend big, this story is far from over.
