With the team’s mandatory minicamp now in the rearview, the Kansas City Chiefs made a trio of roster moves on Friday.

Veteran guard Tremayne Anchrum was released. The former Los Angeles Rams seventh-round selection joined the Chiefs on May 16.

Also on Friday, the Chiefs waived tight end Kevin Foelsch, only ten days after signing with Kansas City on June 11.

One of the roster openings will be filled with rookie center Joey Lombard, who officially joined the team on Friday. Lombard was one of four tryout players the Chiefs hosted this week at minicamp. It was actually the Chiefs’ second look at Lombard in as many months, as the South Dakota product also tried out at the team’s annual post-draft rookie camp.

Another tryout player from minicamp signing with the Chiefs. The club is also signing TE Geor’Quarius Spivey. No word yet on corresponding moves. https://t.co/Q5mNDtXu2o

Technically, the Chiefs ended Friday with an open place on the 90-man roster. Friend of the site Matt Derrick of Chiefs Digest reports that the opening will soon be filled with tight end Geor’Quarius Spivey, who also tried out for the team this week.

Spivey, formerly of Mississippi State and TCU, signed with the Chiefs during 2024’s training camp before being waived in the final roster cuts. Spivey recently played for the UFL’s Houston Roughnecks.
