While the Kansas City Chiefs made waves early at the start of the NFL’s “legal tampering period” by reportedly signing a pair of former San Francisco 49ers in tackle Jaylon Moore and running back Elijah Mitchell, the team made a pair of quieter moves late on Monday.
Per friend-of-the-site Matt Derrick at Chiefs Digest, the Chiefs are re-signing linebacker Cole Christiansen to a one-year contract.

Christiansen originally entered the NFL with the Los Angeles Chargers as an undrafted free agent out of Army in 2020. He joined the Chiefs during the 2022 season — and he has since bounced between Kansas City’s active roster and practice squad.

In 2024, Christiansen appeared in nine games with Kansas City, with all of his action coming on special teams. While terms are not currently known, Christiansen likely has signed for a non-guaranteed minimum salary as he again competes for the active roster.

Per Rapoport, Winchester has agreed to a one-year deal worth a fully guaranteed $1.65 million — slightly above 2025’s minimum base salary of $1.255 million for players with seven or more accrued seasons.
