Chelsea are gearing up for a busy summer, and 22-year-old striker Liam Delap has shot to the top of their wishlist.

According to TEAMtalk, the Blues have made Delap their priority signing as they look to bolster their attacking options. Currently starring at Ipswich Town, the former Manchester City talent has attracted serious attention—with a £40 million price tag and Liverpool lurking, Chelsea are eager to strike first.

Delap’s Rise: From City Castoff to Premier League Star

Since making the switch to Ipswich Town, Delap has been a revelation. After struggling for minutes at Man City, the young striker has flourished with regular football—scoring 11 goals and providing 2 assists in 29 appearances. His blend of power, pace, and clever movement has made him one of the standout young forwards in the Premier League this season.

Chelsea vs Liverpool: Transfer Tug-of-War Incoming?

Both Chelsea and Liverpool are expected to battle it out for Delap’s signature. While the Reds are reportedly considering replacements for Darwin Nunez, Chelsea’s interest seems far more concrete. The Blues failed to land two strikers last summer, settling only for Marc Guiu. Now, with Delap seen as a more well-rounded option than Benjamin Sesko, he’s become their main man.

Will Stamford Bridge be Delap’s next destination? One thing’s certain—the race for one of England’s brightest young strikers is heating up.
