After the disappointment of the Europa League final loss, what may give Manchester United fans hope is the potential moves the club could make this summer.

The main defence for Ruben Amorim’s project not instantly clicking is that some of the current squad do not fit his system.

United are expected to cash in on those players and bring in individuals better suited to his tactical approach, ensuring the Portuguese’s project properly takes off.

Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has provided an update on three names that continue to surface in Manchester United’s transfer rumours.

These include United winger Alejandro Garnacho and striking targets Liam Delap of Ipswich Town and Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP.

Solhekol took to X to analyse Chelsea’s transfer plans, hinting that the Blues are in a strong financial position to reinforce Enzo Maresca’s squad. Their financial boost is expected to come from securing UEFA Champions League football and performing well in the FIFA Club World Cup.

While discussing Chelsea’s situation, Solhekol revealed that the West London club has its eyes on Garnacho, Delap, and Gyokeres.

He outlined Chelsea’s targets, stating: “Targets include players such as Liam Delap, Benjamin Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, Alejandro Garnacho, Nico Williams, Jorrel Hato, Marc Guehi and Jarrad Branthwaite.”

Garnacho’s future uncertain

INEOS could welcome the prospect of Chelsea taking Garnacho’s wage bill off their books.

The Argentine international cast doubt over his United future while publicly criticising Amorim for failing to start him in United’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night.

It seems unlikely the club will tolerate continued criticism for much longer, and they may opt to cash in on him this summer. Having come through United’s academy, his sale would significantly boost the club’s transfer funds, as the fee would be considered pure profit.

Striker targets: Gyokeres and Delap

As for Gyokeres and Delap, United have work to do to beat Chelsea and other suitors to their signatures.

The duo are among the most sought-after strikers this summer, and without Champions League football, United could struggle to compete with clubs such as Chelsea—should they secure a UCL spot this weekend.

Delap, as The Peoples Person reported, has already held discussions with United after receiving permission from Ipswich.

Meanwhile, Amorim is well acquainted with Gyokeres from their time at Sporting, and it is believed he would welcome a reunion.

After their Europa League disappointment (no Champions League football), persuading Gyokeres and Delap to join United could prove challenging.

However, Amorim may yet sell his vision successfully, and one of them could decide he wants to be part of his United resurgence.
