Chelsea are on the lookout for emerging midfield talent this summer—and 22-year-old Dilane Bakwa from RC Strasbourg has caught their attention.

According to German outlet Fussball News, the Blues are monitoring Bakwa closely ahead of the transfer window. The Ligue 1 club are reportedly holding out for around €30 million for their rising star, as interest in the young Frenchman continues to grow.

Who Is Dilane Bakwa?

Bakwa is rapidly becoming one of Ligue 1’s standout young players. Since joining Strasbourg from Bordeaux in August 2023, the Créteil-born midfielder has gone from promising prospect to key performer. With four goals and eight assists in 24 Ligue 1 appearances this season, he’s showing exactly why clubs across Europe are lining up.

His creativity, dribbling, and eye for a final pass have made him a nightmare for defenders—and a dream for scouts.

Chelsea’s Midfield Reshuffle Incoming?

Chelsea’s midfield might look different by the end of the summer. While Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo remain central to the club’s project, others like Carney Chukwuemeka, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Lesley Ugochukwu could be shown the exit door.

That’s where Bakwa fits in.

At €30 million, the price is right—and the connection between Chelsea and sister club Strasbourg makes a deal even more feasible. A move to Stamford Bridge could be the next big step in Bakwa’s rising career.
