According to Sky Germany, Chelsea are in talks with the representatives of Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens over a proposed move to Stamford Bridge this summer, expecting to pay somewhere between €50-60million for his services. There are three years left on his current contract.
Bynoe-Gittens spent the first six months of 2012 at the Chelsea academy, and also represented Reading and Manchester City at different youth levels, before joining Dortmund’s Under-19 side in the summer of 2020. He was promoted to the senior ranks two years later, and since then, he’s gone on to make a total of 102 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring 17 goals and producing 14 assists.
Still only 20, it’s worth pointing out that 12 of Gittens’ 17 goals for the club came this season, indicating considerable progress. However, it’s also important to note that his performances have dropped off somewhat in the second half of the campaign, and he’s lost his place as a regular starter under Niko Kovac.
