Pundit would not be surprised if Giuntoli resigned from his role at Juventus

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca says the club need to win trophies after his side beat Copenhagen to move into the last eight of the Conference League.

Chelsea have stuttered for form since Christmas and were again far from their best against the Danes.

They were jeered off at half-time after a tepid 45 minutes which saw them fail to have a single shot on goal.

But Cole Palmer’s introduction helped spark them into life and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s excellent solo goal was enough to set up a quarter-final with Legiaa Warsaw.

Maresca said: “It’s important to reach the quarter-finals. Now the target is the next step which is the semi-finals. We deserved it over two legs. We changed and adjusted in the second half and we were much better. You need patience.

“This club always won trophies in the past and we need to do our best to achieve our target this season. We have to give to the fans and the club a title.”

The quarter-final will be played on 10 and 17 April.

Conference League quarter-finals

Real Betis (Spain) v Jagiellonia Bialystok (Poland)

Celje (Slovenia) v Fiorentina (Italy)

Chelsea (England) v Legia Warsaw (Poland)

Djurgarden (Sweden) v Rapid Vienna (Austria)
