‘What dreams are made of’

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been of interest to a number of clubs over the last year or so. The suitors most recently named are Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, and according to GiveMeSport, the Blues believe they have what it takes to beat the Lillywhites in a potential race for his services.

Guehi is actually a product of the academy at Chelsea, but he never got a proper chance to prove himself at Stamford Bridge, and following a pair of loan spells with Swansea, he left the Blues to join Crystal Palace in 2021.

Guehi’s rise to prominence has been notable since. Once a ‘Chelsea reject’, much like Kevin De Bruyne or Mohamed Salah, the 24-year-old is now a starting centre-back for England, with 22 caps to his name. There have been many rumours about his future since the end of last year’s Euros, where he represented his country admirably as they reached the final.

Spurs, currently in a heavy injury crisis, reportedly had an offer for Guehi rejected by Palace, and though they’re likely to try again in the summer, Chelsea are confident that he would rather return to the club where his football journey began.
