Undefeated American prospect Carlos González (14-0, 13 KOs) is gearing up for his first title defense, as he puts his WBA NABA featherweight belt on the line against Nicaragua’s Alexander Espinoza on February 15 in Uncasville, Connecticut.
González, ranked No. 11 by the WBA in the featherweight division, has been on a tear since turning pro in 2022. His rise has been nothing short of meteoric, culminating last year in a statement-making knockout victory over Duke Micah to claim the WBA NABA title.
Espinoza (23-6-2) brings experience and durability to the ring, having logged over 180 professional rounds. After suffering three consecutive losses—two of them stoppages due to an eye injury and a head cut—the Nicaraguan has bounced back with back-to-back wins.
With González’s knockout power and Espinoza’s battle-tested toughness, expect fireworks when these two step between the ropes in Connecticut.
