SOME VERY IMPORTANT THOUGHTS

Trivia question answers: 1) The Commanders have the most former Eagles. 2) The Packers, Ravens, Panthers, Jets, Bills, and Dolphins have zero former Eagles.
Last year around this time, only one team didn’t have a former Eagle.
The AFC North led the NFL in former Eagles players in June 2023. The NFC North led the league in former Eagles players in June 2024. Now the AFC North, NFC North, and AFC West are all tied for the lead with 13 each.
Last year around this time, the AFC West only had nine former Eagles.
The AFC East always used to be full with former Eagles but now they’re in dead last with just five in the entire division … and all of them on the Patriots. The Jets could certainly be less friendly to former Eagles now that Joe Douglas is no longer their general manager.
I put an asterisk (*) next to the 14 teams the Eagles will play this season.
Kind of annoying that Ertz, an Eagles legend, is finishing his career with a division rival. Happy for him that he rebounded in 2024 but would’ve been preferable to see him leave the NFC East again.
The Eagles and Chiefs clearly have a similar type in backup QBs. Minshew joins the likes of Wentz, Nick Foles, and Chase Daniel.
I will never not believe in Deontay Burnett or DeAndre Carter.
Who’s one obscure player you’d like to have back?
Eagles fans seem to like to clown on Reddick given how poorly 2024 went for him and how he skipped the Bucs’ OTAs. I think Reddick will rebound this season. Wish the Eagles had found a way to make it work with him instead of pivoting to Bryce Huff, who clearly didn’t pan out in Philly.
If the Eagles could reacquire one former Eagles player that’s currently under contract, who would you pick? Keeping Milton Williams would’ve been ideal if money wasn’t an issue, which it obviously was. The Eagles arguably should’ve made more of an effort to retain Burks, given his affordability and their linebacker injuries. There’s a case to be made for CJGJ, of course.
If the Eagles could reacquire one former player who left prior to the 2025 offseason, who would you pick?
Miles Sanders might actually be the Cowboys’ lead back in 2025?
Brett Boyko is still keeping his professional football career alive after originally signing with the Eagles as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2015.
I feel like Josh Blackwell deserves a shout here since he was considered to be a long shot as an Eagles UDFA signing in 2022. They actually cut him when their roster was required to be down to 80 players and quickly brought him back to eat up snaps in the preseason finale. He was claimed by the Chicago Bears and has since logged 256 defensive snaps and 709 special teams snaps in 43 games played over the past three years. The Bears signed Blackwell to a two-year, $5 million contract earlier this year. Relative to very low expectations, that’s already a really nice career outcome for a UDFA signing out of Duke.
Luis Perez led the UFL in passing yards. Ajene Harris led the UFL in interceptions. Deon Cain ranked third among UFL players in receiving yards.
