Today Match Prediction-PAK vs BAN-Dream11-2nd T20 2025-Who Will Win

The Indian team is known to produce a lot of legends in the game who we all adore and follow in the game of cricket. One of the biggest legends in the modern-day era of Indian Cricket is Virat Kohli who has had one of the most decorated careers as one of the best batters in the World in the world with 81 centuries and 27000+ runs to his name.

However, Virat Kohli has not been in his best form recently and this is most likely the last phase of his cricketing career right now. The 36-year-old cricketer has had a string of low scores in 2024 and at the start of the 2025 season as well. The Champions Trophy will be one of the tournaments where he will want to find some form and show the world that he still has the hunger and passion to score runs and have another successful ICC event which he has had in the past. The upcoming ICC event will also be an opportunity for him to reach one milestone which he has surprisingly not been able to achieve in the Champions Trophy.

There is no doubt when it comes to centuries the name of Virat Kohli comes to our mind every time, especially in the ODI format where he has scored the most centuries in international cricket. Though Virat has great numbers in the Champions Trophy scoring 529 runs from the 13 matches he has played at an average of 88.16, he is yet to score a century in the tournament and has so far achieved the highest score of 96 which he scored against Bangladesh in the 2017 season.

Kohli’s Champions Trophy campaigns throughout the years

2009: Virat played his first Champions Trophy game in 2009 which was hosted by South Africa and was still early into his career. The Delhi-born batter did not have a great start to the tournament getting dismissed for just 16 runs against Pakistan and not getting a chance to bat against Australia since the game was washed out. Though Kohli ended the tournament with a great knock of 79 against West Indies it still ended up being a disappointing tournament for India where they failed to make it to the playoffs. Virat still managed to become the highest run-getter for the team ending with 95 runs from the two innings he played.

2013: The 2013 Champions Trophy in England and Wales was a successful tournament for the Indian team as they won their second Champions Trophy title after 11 years. Virat Kohli was already a big star in the Indian team by this time. Though it was not the most prolific season, he still played some important knocks in the tournament which included a half-century in the semi-final against Sri Lanka and the 43 against England in the finals. Virat Kohli was the third-highest run-getter for India in the tournament with 176 runs to his name at an average of 58.66.

2017: The 2017 season was another good tournament for the Indian team and it was also the tournament where Virat played some great knocks but still failed to reach the three-figure mark. He was among the runs once again and scored three 50+ scores that came against Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh. India were very close to defending their title but in the end, they lost the finals to their arch-rivals Pakistan. Kohli scored 258 runs in five matches at an average of 129.

This has been the story so far for the India Stalwart in the Champions Trophy and though he has not been in the best of his form currently, we can still believe that he will find his feet and play a major role in the team and win his fourth ICC title in the end. Ahead of the major India vs Pakistan clash, it would be exciting to see the stalwart bat against the opponents just like his 2017 Champions Trophy innings.
