Bronny James has spoken about sharing the court with LeBron James in his rookie season and his Dad’s looming retirement.
“It’s a blessing,” Bronny told FOX Sports. “Being able to learn from him, not only as a player, but as a dad. It’s a different type of relationship. I try to take full advantage of it because it’s something that a lot of people can’t have. It was an amazing experience for me. And I’m looking forward to learning more from him, if he’s still here or not, either way. But I’m just looking forward to it.”
LeBron didn’t confirm or deny if he’s coming back for another season, but Bronny kind of did, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.
“I talked to Bronny about his favorite memories from the year and he mentioned the surreal idea of going to work with his dad and he said ‘I look forward to that for years to come,’” McMenamin said on The Dan Patrick Show.
That is anything but surprising, since the Lakers star has a $52.6 million player option for next season.
As it has been the last three seasons, James’ retirement was the hot topic of the postgame press conference after the Timberwolves eliminated the Lakers.
Once again, James gave a vague answer about his future.
“I don’t know,” James told reporters when asked how long he plans to continue playing. “I don’t have an answer to that. Something I’ll sit down with my family, my wife and my support group and kind of just talk through it and see what happens. And just have a conversation with myself on how long I want to continue to play.
“I don’t know the answer to that right now, to be honest. So we’ll see.”
Shams Charania believes LeBron will be back for at least one more season.
