Luka Modrić’s future could be finalized in the next few hours, with AC Milan reportedly confident in completing the Croatian star’s signing. Multiple Italian outlets, including Sky Sport and Di Marzio, report that the former Real Madrid midfielder has already given the green light to join the Rossoneri, with the deal expected to be finalized within 24 to 48 hours.

“Modrić is fully open to a move to the Rossoneri,” Sky Italia stated, underlining Milan’s optimism that the transfer will be wrapped up quickly.

Milan rebuilding and sees Modrić as the ideal leader

The Milan side is preparing for a major midfield overhaul—especially with Tijjani Reijnders potentially heading to Manchester City for over €70 million—and has identified Modrić as the perfect strategist to lead this transition. The club had previously tried to sign him and now sees him as an ideal mentor for its emerging young talents.

Despite not competing in European tournaments this season, Milan has accelerated its transfer activity following the appointment of Igli Tare as the new sporting director and the return of Massimiliano Allegri as head coach.

In terms of contract details, reports suggest Milan’s offer to Modrić is worth €3.5 million net per season, with an initial one-year deal and an option for a second year. If confirmed, Modrić’s arrival would mark a major statement of intent from Milan and a high-profile boost to their new project.
