Welcome to Midnight Mania!

The boxing community mourns the loss of a legend.

Earlier on Friday (March 21, 2025), George Foreman’s family confirmed via his official Instagram account that the iconic boxer has passed away at 76 years of age. No cause of death was described in the post, which simply notes that Foreman passed “peacefully” and “surrounded by loved ones.”

Our hearts are broken. With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved George Edward Foreman Sr. who peacefully departed on March 21, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. A devout preacher, a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grand and great grandfather, he lived a life marked by unwavering faith, humility, and purpose.

A humanitarian, an Olympian, and two time heavyweight champion of the world, He was deeply respected — a force for good, a man of discipline, conviction, and a protector of his legacy, fighting tirelessly to preserve his good name— for his family.

We are grateful for the outpouring of love and prayers, and kindly ask for privacy as we honor the extraordinary life of a man we were blessed to call our own.

Foreman was more than a simple champion in the sport of boxing — he was an outright pillar of the sport. “Big George” was an Olympic gold medalist and won of the most fearsome punchers in boxing history, ending his career with 68 knockouts in 76 bouts. The Heavyweight first won gold in 1973 by handing Joe Frazier his first professional loss in the 15th round.

Foreman is perhaps most famous for his “Rumble in the Jungle” versus Muhammad Ali, a legendary eight-rough war that saw Foreman lose his crown to “The Greatest” in one of the most-watched sporting events of all time. Foreman wouldn’t recapture Heavyweight gold until 1994, but he did so in style, setting the record as oldest Heavyweight champion at 45 years of age when he knocked out 26-year-old defending king Michael Moorer.

Outside of the ring, Foreman was something of a pop culture fixture for many years after his boxing career. At least one of every three people reading this has a George Foreman Grill somewhere in their pantry, and the Christian minister also made headlines by naming all five of his sons after himself.

Foreman’s final bout was a 1997 defeat to Shannon Briggs, which finished his professional career at 76-5. Our condolences are with the Foreman family, and we hope you enjoy these highlight clips of “Big George” in action.

Insomnia

Teofimo Lopez has some choice words for Shakur Stevenson. Who wants that fight?

Usually, I feel like it’s the random reporters making it weird with fighters, but Kevin Holland was kind of the aggressor here?

Kevin Holland to a UFC reporter: “I’ll fight you… We can go to the locker room right now”

Reporter: “Challenge accepted. No problem”

Bryce Mitchell and Diego Sanchez — could you imagine the conversation?

I’m no doctor, but I feel pretty comfortable calling that a confirmed broken orbital at Cage Warriors today.

An old legend with a fresh look!

Gunnar Nelson never quite developed into a top-ranked UFC fighter, but he still deserves credit for being COOL!

Screenshots of Dricus Du Plessis are inevitably hilarious.

I hope UFC hosting an event in Azerbaijan is a worthy excuse to sign Tofiq Musayev.

Shocking report: UFC’s current drug testing overseer actually caught somebody?!?

Slips, rips, and KO clips

Swanging-and-banging!

Kicking low then kicking high works at every level.

We nearly had a double knockdown here, but somehow Holzken was the man last hurt despite actually hitting the floor.
