Despite receiving much backlash for his approach to the sport, Jake Paul continues attracting the attention of some of boxing’s biggest names.
‘The Problem Child’ upset a large portion of the combat sports fan base when he lured Mike Tyson out of retirement at almost 60 years old. The influencer is now preparing for his next bout inside the squared circle, but his actions have caught the attention of an undefeated former world champion.
During a recent interview, Jermall Charlo, Jermell Charlo’s identical twin brother, welcomed a fight against his friend Jake Paul. Discussing the possibility of the matchup, Charlo claimed that, while he believes the YouTuber wouldn’t entertain the bout, he would embrace it.
“For sure [I’d fight Jake Paul],” Charlo said. “Jake Paul wouldn’t want to fight a fighter like me anyway.”
“I don’t know the substance to it, but you know, I can’t call it, but Jake Paul wouldn’t want to fight a fighter like me. And on top of that, me and Jake Paul are pretty cool.”
Charlo later confirmed that despite their friendship, he would be open to making the fight happen.
“Yeah, we’re homies, but I’ll fight him. You fight your homies sometimes, I’ll fight him.”

“We can get some money together, that’s when you know we’re homies. Yeah, for sure, I’d get some money with him. But, no. He wouldn’t want to fight a fighter like me.”
“I don’t understand the concept of it, but nah.”
Jermall Charlo then insisted that Jake Paul will go on to beat Julio Cesar Chavez Jr during his next outing—an opponent he believes only returned to the ring for a payday.
Paul vs. Chavez Jr will be showcased live on DAZN PPV. The event will take place at the Honda Center, Anaheim, California, and fans can tune in when it gets underway on June 28.
