According to The Times, Liverpool’s interest in Milos Kerkez has prompted Bournemouth to name their price for the services of the 21-year-old left-back – they want £45million, all in cash, no swaps involved. They’re not interested in signing Caoimhin Kelleher, Liverpool’s backup goalkeeper, at the moment, as they contemplate a permanent transfer of Chelsea loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga.
Kerkez has had an outstanding season so far, attracting plenty of interest from a number of top clubs, but he would reportedly prefer Liverpool as the next step in his career. With three years left on his contract at the Vitality, Bournemouth are in a strong position to be firm in their demands – if Liverpool want to sign him, they’ll have to pay up. The Serbia-born Hungary international was signed from AZ Alkmaar in 2023 for £15.5million by Richard Hughes, Bournemouth’s technical director at the time who is now Liverpool’s sporting director.
With Andy Robertson (31) and Kostas Tsimikas (28) being the current options on the left defensive flank in Arne Slot’s squad, it will be interesting to see if the proposed arrival of Kerkez would spell the end of the days at Anfield for one of them.
