Stefon Diggs has drawn negative attention ahead of the start of his first mandatory minicamp with the New England Patriots, and some have wondered if his future with the team is in jeopardy. One longtime Boston radio host claims it is not out of the question.
A video that circulated on Tuesday appears to show Diggs handing three women an unknown pink substance while partying on a yacht. On Friday, Scott Zolak of 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston’s “Zolak and Bertrand” show was asked if he feels Diggs should be cut over the troubling video.
Zolak, a former Patriots quarterback who has covered New England for years, said he believes Diggs should remain on the team. However, he said he has heard the Patriots moving on from Diggs before the season is “on the table.”
“Do I think he should be cut? No. I came to this show yesterday with the opinion, not the opinion, but the knowledge that it is on the table, that it is being thought of,” Zolak said. “And it’s not just the boat. It’s not just the boat. There’s some other things that I’ve heard, that’s all, that put some things in question.”
