Competition: A-League

Market: Lachlan Rose over 0.5 shots on target

Odds: 4/7 @ 1xBet

In what could prove to be another enjoyable A-League showdown on Friday morning, Macarthur will welcome Newcastle to the Campbelltown Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, making what was a sensational return to winning ways last time out, Macarthur will be desperate to use their action-packed performance as a platform to build on. Eventually securing a remarkable 5-4 victory away at Adelaide, the Bulls know that they can move within touching distance of the play-off spots here. However, signing off February with a 2-1 defeat against Western Sydney, Mile Sterjovski’s men have shown some extended issues since opening the New Year. Mustering just a single win from any of their previous six A-League appearances, Macarthur have also gained an unwanted reputation for their defensive struggles. Including another 2-1 loss against Auckland last month, Friday’s hosts have conceded at least a pair of goals in all of their last six consecutive outings. It should also be highlighted, Sterjovski’s camp have registered just a sole clean sheet at the Campbelltown Stadium so far this season.

As for the visitors, watching their remarkable purple patch come to an abrupt end last time out, Newcastle will be seeking an immediate response here. However, although the Jets might have fallen to a nightmare 6-2 drumming at home against Western United on March 16th, Robert Stanton’s men have largely impressed over the past six weeks. Signing off February with a routine 3-1 victory against Brisbane, Friday’s guests have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous eight A-League outings. While Newcastle might have a real battle on their hands in the race to snatch a shock play-off ticket, the former Sydney coach will be excited by his side’s recent success away from the McDonald Jones Stadium. Including a 2-1 win against Adelaide last month, the Jets have collected seven points from their last three A-League showdowns on the road. It should also be highlighted, Stanton’s men collected a 2-1 victory when they last travelled to Macarthur back in October.

Bet: Lachlan Rose over 0.5 shots on target against Macarthur FC 4/7 for Friday’s A-League battle @ 1xBet
