Having failed in their respective pursuits of Liverpool forward Luis Diaz and Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams, Barcelona have placed Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford at the top of their summer shopping list, according to Sky Sports.
The Catalan giants were long-term admirers of Diaz and the Colombian was thought to be open to the move, but Liverpool’s not-for-sale stance has made them look elsewhere. Last summer, they were dismayed as Williams chose to stay at Bilbao, and it seems they won’t be getting the Spain international this year either. Barcelona are now expected to try hard for Rashford in the coming days.
Having spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Aston Villa, the 27-year-old has expressed his wish to leave Old Trafford permanently. United have given their consent for him to start looking for a new club, and have even given his No. 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha.
