This is from the RBR Archives 2014. We were thinking about Galen Rupp, a two-time Olympic medalist, silver for 10,000m in London 2012 and bronze for the marathon in Rio 2016. In Tokyo 2021, Galen took 8th in the marathon.
In the World Championships 2022 in Eugene, Galen Rupp finished 19th in the World Champs Marathon. He dropped out of the Chicago Marathon in October 2022, around 30k.
In October 2023, Galen Rupp finished 8th in 2:08.48 in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, his first health marathon in two years!
Attempting to make his fifth team, Galen Rupp finished 16th in 2:14:07 in the 2024 Olympic Marathon Trials in Orlando, Florida.
Galen Rupp told the assembled media at the 2024 Bank of America Chicago Marathon that he hoped to race in the spring of 2025.

On January 16, 2014, Galen Rupp set a new AR for the 5,000 meters with his 13:01.26. On January 25, Galen broke the AR for two miles, running 8:07.41.
