Arsenal and Chelsea could reportedly be set to battle it out for the transfer of Brighton forward Joao Pedro this summer.
Liverpool have also been named as a team to watch in the race for Pedro’s signature as he could be available for over £30m, according to the Telegraph.
The talented Brazilian forward has impressed during his time in the Premier League, contributing a total of ten goals and six assists for Brighton this season.
It seems inevitable that Pedro will earn himself a big move before too long, with the Telegraph noting that Arsenal and Chelsea have long had him on their radar.
The 23-year-old is an exciting young talent (described as “superb” by Alan Shearer, via the Argus) who should now be close to entering into the peak years of his career, so it makes sense as an ideal time for top clubs to try signing him.
Joao Pedro the latest big name to leave Brighton?
Brighton have done really well in recent times to sign talented young players on the cheap before selling them on for a big profit.
The likes of Moises Caicedo, Alexis Mac Allister, Marc Cucurella and Leandro Trossard have all been poached by traditional big six clubs in the last few years, and it seems Pedro could be the next.
Arsenal and Chelsea both need new attacking players this summer, so it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga unfolds.

Should Joao Pedro join Arsenal or Chelsea?
It remains to be seen if Pedro will end up picking between these two London giants, but if it does come down to those two, it would be an interesting choice for him to have to make.
Arsenal’s project is probably the more tempting one for now, but it might also be harder for him to ensure he plays regularly at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are more committed to trusting and developing top young players, but their project is further behind as they’re still not certain to even have Champions League football on offer next season.
