There has been plenty of speculation around the future of Newcastle striker Alexander Isak, with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Barcelona, and other top clubs around Europe, said to be interested in signing the Sweden international this summer.
Liverpool are even believed to be preparing an offer consisting of Darwin Nunez and considerable cash and Isak is apparently keen on the idea of moving to Anfield, but Newcastle reportedly have no intention of selling any of their key players, regardless of whether they qualify for next season’s Champions League or not.
In light of such a firm stance from the Magpies, according to Caught Offside, Arsenal and Chelsea have decided to seek for alternative targets to strengthen their attacking ranks and have set their sights on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike.
Ekitike has been on fine form for the Bundesliga side this season, scoring a total of 17 goals and contributing six assists in 32 matches across all competitions. His contract runs until the summer of 2029, which means any prospective suitor would have to be willing to pay a significant fee to prize him away.
