With all eyes falling on Buenos Aires in midweek, we have a heavyweight World Cup qualifying showdown when Argentina and Brazil meet in the early hours of Wednesday.

Getting their return to home soil underway holding a commanding six-point buffer at the top of the qualifying standings, the reigning world champions will be looking to make another heavyweight statement against their arch-rivals.

While Brazil might have dragged themselves over the finishing line against Colombia last weekend, the Selecao are seeking some much-needed stability and will be more than aware that they face a monumental challenge on foreign soil.

In what promises to be another fiery affair, we have taken a look at some of the most appealing Argentina vs Brazil Bet Builder Tips.

Another cagey affair in Buenos Aires

While we might be treated to one of world football’s most iconic rivalries in the early hours of Wednesday, it is fair to say that the two South American heavyweights have a habit of producing cagey affairs when they do meet.

With Argentina collecting a nail-biting 1-0 victory when they last met their arch-rivals for a World Cup qualifying showdown back in November 2023, Wednesday’s hosts have won three of their previous four meetings by a 1-0 scoreline.

Including a 0-0 stalemate when they welcomed Brazil to San Juan back in 2021, it should be noted that Argentina have not conceded a single strike in all of their last four meetings against the Selecao.

Along with each of those four consecutive meetings between Argentina and Brazil finishing with under 1.5 goals, five of their six battles have also seen no more than a single goal.

It should also be highlighted, only one of the last 10 meetings between the two historic rivals has finished with both teams finding the net.

Bet Builder Tip: Both teams to score – No @ 3/5 with 1xBet

Joelinton to walk a disciplinary tightrope

Heading over to Buenos Aires in midweek with plenty of pressure on their shoulders, Brazil look set for an emotionally charged contest on foreign soil.

While the former striking misfit might have played a crucial role as Newcastle clinched a famous EFL Cup crown against Liverpool at Wembley on March 16th, he has gained a reputation for his disciplinary issues.

Getting March underway with a customary booking against Brighton, the 28-year-old has already been shown five separate domestic cards since opening the New Year.

Likewise, coming off the bench and brandished with a yellow card against Colombia over the weekend, Joelinton also has some unpleasant memories of his most recent meeting against Argentina.

Shown a straight red card when Brazil welcomed the reigning world champions to Rio de Janeiro back in November 2023, the Newcastle ace should be set to walk another disciplinary tightrope.

Bet Builder Tip: Joelinton to be shown a card @ 13/8 with BetUS

Alvarez to spearhead Scaloni’s attack

Watching eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi withdraw from Argentina’s squad last week after picking up a minor muscle issue, Lionel Scaroni’s side are having to make do without their record-breaking skipper this month.

Spearheading La Albiceleste’s charge away at Uruguay over the weekend, Julian Alvarez will shoulder most of Argentina’s goalscoring threat in the early hours of Wednesday.

While the 25-year-old might have found himself at the heart of a real penalty shootout saga following Atletico Madrid’s Champions League exit earlier in the month, Alvarez has continued to impress since arriving in the Spanish capital.

Completing a £64.4million move from Premier League giants Manchester City last summer, Alvarez has notched 23 goals across all competitions so far this season.

Likewise, registering 11 goals so far this calendar year, the Atletico star will be looking to test a Brazil squad that has recorded just a sole clean sheet from any of their last six qualifying appearances.

Bet Builder Tip: Julian Alvarez over 0.5 shots on target @ 1/1 with Dachbet
