The long awaited Top-20 debut of Amanda Anisimova is here! The American became the lowest-ranked champion in Doha women’s singles history on Saturday, and two days later she makes her debut in the tour’s Top-20 at No.18 (+23).

Anisimova, who defeated five Top-30 players in Doha before taking out 37th-ranked Jelena Ostapenko in the final, eclipses her previous career-high of No.21 by three spots.

That is Anisimova’s highest ranking since 2019, when she was a Roland-Garros semifinalist.

After taking a seven-month hiatus due to mental health reasons in 2023, Anisimova started 2024 at No.373 in the world.

Anisimova claimed her third career title on Saturday. Her vanquished foe, Jelena Ostapenko rises 11 spots back to No.27 in the rankings as a result of reaching her first WTA 1000 final in six years.

Other Risers: Sramkova / Ngounoue

Slovakia’s Rebecca Sramkova, who took out Mirra Andreeva last week in Doha, jumps another four spots to a career-high at No.42. The 28-year-old Slovakian has been continually climbing after making her Top-100 debut in 2024.

American Clervie Ngounoue rises 37 spots to a career-high 253 after claiming her second career ITF W50 event last week in Birmingham. The former junior No.1 and Wimbledon girls’ champion will turn 19 in July

Ngounoue is ranked seventh among WTA players aged 18 or younger.
