Currently locked in talks with Brentford over Bryan Mbeumo, Manchester United will likely focus on outgoings next, with the futures of several big-name stars like Alejandro Garnacho up in the air.

The Argentine was expected to play a key role under Ruben Amorim after the head coach fought for his inclusion in January while INEOS were mulling over a sale.

However, issues between the pair kept cropping out, like before the Manchester derby and after the Ipswich Town game, and finally, Amorim’s patience seemed to snap after the Argentine’s post-Europa League final comments came to light.

He informed the Carrington graduate in front of all his teammates to find a new club, and since then, INEOS have tried to move the 20-year-old on with multiple clubs interested.

Alejandro Garnacho set to leave this summer

Chelsea are long-term admirers, as are Napoli. Bayer Leverkusen, who recently appointed Erik ten Hag as boss, were also keen to reunite the pair but United’s asking price is likely to prove beyond them.

Arsenal have also enquired about his services, as have Aston Villa, but the Red Devils have a different valuation in mind for domestic rivals with the English giants seeking £70 million from a sale.

Which might allow foreign clubs the chance to secure a deal at a lower price, with Fichajes claiming Atletico Madrid are genuinely interested in the Argentina international and are ready to firm up their interest.

Diego Simeone wants reinforcements up top, and is keen to sign his compatriot, with Atleti ready to intensify talks with the 20-time English league champions in the coming weeks.

“Alejandro Garnacho is emerging as one of the key players in the upcoming transfer window. The young Argentine winger will no longer be at Manchester United, and his name is already being strongly linked to several European teams. Among the suitors is Atlético de Madrid, who are keen to bring him in as part of Cholo Simeone’s new project.

“The red-and-white team values both his youth and his attacking versatility, and it’s no coincidence that the Argentine coach has put him on his list of priorities.

Atletico Madrid set to intensify talks with United

“His free-flowing style, ability to break through, and self-confidence in one-on-one situations have earned him a spot on the radar of several clubs, but Atlético’s interest appears to be taking the lead due to multiple factors, including his emotional connection to his hometown.

“Negotiations are still in their initial stages, but the interest is real, and talks could intensify in the coming weeks. Manchester is already accepting his departure, while Madrid is preparing to welcome a talent trained on their home soil who could now wear the colors of the club that saw him grow up as a fan.”

Alejandro Garnacho came to United from Atletico, and a return would suit him. But whether the Spanish giants can cough up in the region of £50 million remains to be seen.

The United No.17’s sale will count as pure profit, even more reason for INEOS to push for a sale this summer.

Only after a couple of sales are realised can the Old Trafford side focus on recruiting a striker and possibly a midfield and goalkeeper.
