Professional Fighters League (PFL) recently revealed that it had rescheduled its PFL Africa event — which is set to go down inside GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, South Africa on July 19, 2025 — which is one week earlier from its original date of July 26. Now, the promotion has added two more stellar matchups to round out the main card.
Former Bellator MMA Featherweight champion, A.J. McKee returns to face off against Akhmed Magomedov. McKee is coming off a tough split-decision defeat against Paul Hughes last October, which is just his second-ever defeat. As for Magomedov, he has a pro record of 10-1 and is coming off a win over Nathan Kelly earlier this year.
Also, former Bellator Light Heavyweight king, Corey Anderson, will return after more than a year on the sidelines to move up to Heavyweight to take on Denis Goltsov, who won the 2024 PFL tournament with a win over Oleg Popov, his fourth straight.
Headlining the event will be Johnny Eblen taking on Costello van Steenis, while unbeaten 2024 PFL champion Dakota Ditcheva collides with Sumiko Inaba. It will be a busy night in combat sports as UFC 318 featuring a trilogy fight between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier goes down in New Orleans, while Usyk vs. Dubois 2 takes place at Wembley Stadium in England.
