According to Fabrizio Romano, AC Milan are in advanced talks with KAA Gent over the proposed transfer of Archie Brown. The club-to-club negotiations are progressing, and discussions over personal terms with the player’s camp have begun. The seven-time European champions see Brown as a good candidate to replace Theo Hernandez, who has left the club to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal.
The 23-year-old left-back is a product of the academy at Derby County, and having spent two years with Swiss side Lausanne-Sport, he joined Gent in 2023 for a reported fee of €4million. Since then, he’s gone on to make a total of 87 appearances for the Belgian club, scoring three goals and producing 10 assists. Standing 6’2” tall, he is capable of filling in at centre-back, as well as in midfield, and is able to contribute much in either box at set-piece situations. He represented England at Under-20 level twice.
Milan are in a hurry to close the deal for Brown, being aware of interest in his services from other clubs across Europe.
