Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant is playing through a right shoulder injury. With Jaren Jackson Jr. sidelined, Morant wants to be on the floor for his team, but he knows the injury is impacting his play.
“Terrible,” Morant said on returning against the Thunder. “I should have been out. But I was out there. Regardless of out, in — there’s going to be something said.”
The Grizzlies star said he’s been dealing with shoulder soreness for months now. Morant was initially injured on December 27 and the soreness has lingered since then.
“I’ve played like this all season, honestly,” he said. “It is what it is. Got to get the win.”
When asked if he’d be dealing with the shoulder injury for the rest of the season, Morant kept it simple by answering “I don’t know.”
