The Cleveland Cavaliers became the first team in the NBA to clinch a spot in the playoffs following a 112-107 win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
The Cavs are also on a 12-game winning streak, their third of this season.
“It’s special. This is really special. We know what we’re going to be judged on but we have to enjoy a season like this,” said Kenny Atkinson after the game.
Donovan Mitchell finished with 26 points, with Darius Garland adding 10 assists.
The Cavs only needed 62 games to clinch a playoff spot, which is second in franchise history following the 2008-09 team that cinched a playoff berth in 60 games.
