UFC 316: Dvalishvili vs. O'Malley 2 Live Results

Earlier today, it was revealed that Dana White and Turki Alalshikh will stamp their authority on combat sports with their newly announced TKO boxing promotion. Since then, White has offered further information on what fans can expect from the company.

Boxing has been in a dire state for some time, with politics limiting the sport’s capabilities. However, the bad fortune surrounding the sweet science has slowly begun changing since Alalshikh offered his support—and now it could be set for a significant boost.

After announcing his partnership with the Saudi Arabian Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Dana White is passionate about creating the biggest movement in boxing history.

The UFC CEO wants to clean up the sport and introduce a new structure to boxing.

“I wouldn’t be sitting here right now if it wasn’t for the sport of boxing,” White said. “That’s where I started, and I’ve been talking a lot of smack about boxing for a long time.”

“I’m looking forward to implementing changes and things that I think would definitely help the sport. Simple things like the best fight the best. How about that?”

Instead of rushing proceedings, Dana White wishes to build from nothing as he did with the UFC.

“What I would love to do is build this thing from the ground up, the way that we did the UFC… You have everybody start fighting everybody [and] when you get to the top 5, there’s no denying who the best five guys in the world are. And then they all fight it out to see who’s the world champion.”

White wants to remove the use of multiple titles per weight class and limit it to just one.

“Get rid of all the five different champions and five different sanctioning organizations and one. It’ll just be one…”

“[We want to] build cards that are great from the first fight to the last fight of the night, just like we do in the UFC.”

Another major change Dana White foresees is the switch up of live events.

“The other thing that we’re going to do is, my son just went to [the Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach] show this weekend. He said, ‘The live event was terrible.'”

“It was disorganized. We’re going to clean that up and make the live events great again too. The run of show will run faster. You know, it won’t take nine hours to see four fights…”

“The show will run like the UFC does. Fight after fight after fight.”

The 55-year-old expects to build the sport in the United States and worldwide in the coming years.
